Marquita McClendon, Director's journey into childcare began at a pivotal moment in her life. At just 22 years old, she found herself a small business owner, responsible for her two-year-old twins and her 13-year-old brother after losing her mother to breast cancer. It was during this challenging time that Marquita's path crossed with the childcare program her daughters were attending, and fate seemed to intervene. The program's owner expressed a desire to sell, and Marquita took it as a sign from above.
Her decision to take over the childcare program marked the beginning of a 19-year career as a childcare educator and a small business owner. This journey has been filled with challenges, but it has also been incredibly rewarding. Marquita credits her experience as a business owner with teaching her responsibility and punctuality, skills that have undoubtedly served her well in both her personal and professional life.
Throughout her journey, Marquita has relied on her faith for guidance and strength. She believes that God has been with her every step of the way, guiding her through the ups and downs of owning a small business. As she continues on her path, Marquita is grateful for the opportunities she has been given and hopeful for what the future holds.
